HaRav Doniel Channen received Smicha from R’ Azran, a member of the Beit Din of the Adus Charadus. In addition he received Smicha from the Chief Rabbis of Israel: R’ Lau and R’ Bakshi Doron; Chief Rabbi of Be’er Sheva, Rabbi Deri, the Chief Rabbi and Av Beit Din of Jerusalem R’ Messas and HaGaon Harav R’ Ovadia Yosef.

For the past 30 years he has served as a Moreh Horah for kashrut in his home communities. He has given shiurim to hundreds of students in Yora Daya both individually and as part of a wider range of Semicha programs. Many of his talmidim have chosen to pursue careers in rabbuus, chinuch, chaplaincy and as kashrut supervisors. In addition he has built learning chaburas in the United States, England, South Africa, Australia, and Israel.

For many years R’ Channen was a prolific writer and illustrator authoring books such as “Tallis Ends and Other Tales” which brings to life 10 difficult Sugia’s in Baba Kama, Baba Metzia and Baba Basra and was given an excellent review by the late Dr. Joseph Kamnensky zt’l the former Director of Torah U’ Mesorah. R’ Channen’s latest works are the Igeress HaRamban and Birkat Hamazon (both Pirchei Shoshanim publications) which have received worldwide attention and interest. Birkat Hamazon has been translated into Russian, French and soon Spanish.

R’ Channen has developed a unique style of teaching which enables any student to understand very difficult concepts in a manner that stretches one’s abilities to perceive and absorb much more than before . The Rav has gained an international reputation as a thorough and dynamic teacher whose classes are interactive, intense and enjoyable. Yeshiva Keter HaTorah is proud to present a new Semicha course designed by the Rav, which will hold the attention and develop the skills of students of all levels.

R’ Channen currently lives in Ramat Beit Shemesh with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Rabbi Ari Enkin received his semicha from the Yeshiva Gedola of Montreal, where he first began his immersion in halacha
study, as well as from Rav Pinchas Hirshprung. Always immersed in halacha study, he went on to receive “yadin-yadin” ordination from a number of prominent dayanim, including Rav Ephraim Greenblatt of Memphis. He holds a master’s degree in informal adult education from Athabasca University in Alberta, Canada.

Since making aliya, Rabbi Enkin has taught halacha studies at a number of yeshivot and seminaries, and delivers lectures and shiurim in the community by invitation. He is also the author of the highly acclaimed “Dalet Amot of Halacha Series” (7 vol.) and general editor and halacha columnist of the halacha website Hirhurim (www.torahmusings.com). He is currently the Rabbinic Director of United with Israel, Director of the Halacha program at Yeshivat Migdal Hatorah in Modiin, and teaches at Yeshivat Ashreinu in Beit Shemesh. Rabbi Enkin is regularly consulted for halachic guidance and advice by rabbis and laymen alike.

Rabbi Enkin and his wife Shayna live in Ramat Beit Shemesh. They have four children: Shira, Eitan, Tehilla, and Elimelech.

Rabbi Gefen is a close talmid of Rav Yitzchak Berkovits and a Rosh Chabura in The Jerusalem Kollel led by Rav Berkovits. Rabbi Gefen’s deep knowledge of Judaism has been acquired over 16 years of intensive Torah and Talmudic study at the Aish HaTorah Yeshiva and Jerusalem Kollel, and this is broadened by his degree in history and politics from the University of Birmingham, UK.

He has been teaching a wide spectrum of halacha in the Kollel for the past 6 years based on Rav Berkovits’ source sheets which comprehensively outlines the sugyas from Gemara, through the Rishonim and Acharonim and down to the practical halacha.

He is also a successful author, and has written for the major newspaper, Hamodia. He continues to produce Divrei Torah in his popular columns on Aish.com and Torah.org, inspiring people across the spectrum of Jewish observance to live with the vibrancy and beauty of Torah. He has written four books; ‘The Guiding Light’1 & 2 on the weekly Parsha, ‘A Light in Time’ on the Chagim, and ‘Beacons of Light’ on the characters of the Torah.

Rabbi Aharon Shlomo Jacob was born and raised in Israel and then moved with his family to Canada. While living in Toronto, he served as part of the Sephardic Kol Torah congregation. He moved back to Israel in 2009 and learned in several yeshivot in Yerushalayim. Along with Rabbi Moshe Moretov, he founded the Beit Gavriel Kollel in Queens, New York, where he learned full Sedarim and gave various shiurim, especially on hilchot Shabbat. He also delivered chabura shiurim twice a week to teenage boys. While living in New York, he received semicha from the Queens Av Beit Din HaRav Eliyahu BenChaim shlita and also received semichas in shechita and mila.

He now lives in Ramat Beit Shemesh with his wife Shani and three children and is an avrech learning in the Kollel of HaRav Avraham Levy shlita.

In addition to being an avrech, he holds a degree in fitness & nutrition and does personal fitness training and helps others adopt a healthier, more active lifestyle.

Shmuel Katz studied at Yeshivat Keren BeYavneh at a very early age, under the guidance of Rav Goldvecht, zt”l.

From there he went to Yeshiva University, where he majored in Physics.

He was offered a full scholarship to N.Y.U. Dental school and graduated in 1993.

He opened up offices in Manhattan and Queens.

At the age of 30, he moved to Israel with his family, and dedicated his time to learning.

With a nice group of Chaverim, Shmuel has taught the entire Sha’s and Shulchan Aruch over the past 15 years.

Shmuel currently runs 6 free dental clinics in Israel, and works as an oral surgeon privately in Ramat Beit Shemesh.

His main goal is in the study of Halacha, and learning from others.

HaRav HaDayan Avraham Chaim Bloomenstiel

Rav Avraham Chaim Bloomenstiel studied in many of Israel’s preeminent academies of Torah study. He received his ordinations as a rabbi, dayan, and moreh horaah from HaRav Moshe Halberstam ztz’l (Eidah HaCharedis), HaRav Meir Brandsdorfer ztz’l (Eidah HaCharedis), HaRav Zalman Nechemya Goldberg (former chief justice of the Beis Din of Jerusalem), HaRav Meir Sirota (Eidah HaCharedis), and HaRav Don Channen (moreh hora’ah, Ramat Beit Shemesh).

Rav Bloomenstiel further received certifications as a shochet from HaRav Nesanel Kostelitz (Rosh Kollel, Baltimore Community Kollel; former supervising Rov for Empire Poultry) and Rabbi Yechezkel Feit (Rosh HaShochtim of Empire Poultry). He was further certified as a sofer by HaRav Avraham Tzvi Wosner (Rav of Satmar, Monsey, NY), Rav Moshe Halberstam ztz’l (Eidah HaCharedis), and Rav Dovid Leib Greenfeld (Vaad Mishmeres Stam International). Rabbi Bloomenstiel is recognized as one of today’s foremost experts in the halachos and minhagim of safrus.

Rabbi Bloomenstiel is a renown expert in many areas of halacha and is the author of Sheelos UTeshuvos Sheves Achim, as well as the Sheves Achim series of seforim and kuntresim on Shulchan Aruch, tefillah, and biurim on chassidic thought. He is also a contributing author on Jewish topics and religion for the Encyclopedia of Psychology and Religion and recently authored an appendix on the laws of conversion for the book B’nei Avraham Ahuvecha: Gerim in Chassidic Thought.

Our Director of Operations, Rabbi Eytan Yehuda Dzikowski, brings to Keter HaTorah a perfect blend of Torah and business acumen. Hailing from Strasbourg, France where he received his Bacalaureat and graduated with honors, he then continued his Talmudic studies at Gateshead Yeshiva in the United Kingdom under the direction of Rabbi Gerwitz, shlita.

Rabbi Dzikowski, has received two rabbinical smichas: one under the auspices of our own Rav Channen Shlita in Issur v’heter and the other in Schita under Rabbi Landsman, z’tzal.

His business training in Touro College in Manhattan has assisted him in his career as a entrepreneur, as well as his role at Yeshiva Keter HaTorah overseeing and managing the Yeshiva’s daily operations and finances.

When he’s not managing his several businesses, Rabbi Dzikowski sits on the board of directors of Kehillas Shivtei Yeshurun and LemaanAchai, as well as Hatzala Beit Shemesh for which he volunteers as an Emergency Medical Technician.

Rabbi David Reckles is a close talmid of HaRav Shalom Arush, shlit”a, and the Program Director of Breslev Israel, HaRav Arush’s kiruv organization.

Aside from his dedicated involvement in kiruv, Rabbi Reckles has an extensive background in technology and business development. He has served as Chief Technology Officer for many companies, and his clients have included American Airlines, Dell, Pfizer, Gap, United Airlines, and numerous others.

Rabbi Reckles received his Semicha from HaRav Channen. He was greatly impacted by Rav Channen’s method of learning, and is committed to making it available across the globe.
He currently resides in Ramat Bet Shemesh with his wife and five children.

Mordechai Leib Rothenberg is a Talmid of Harav Doniel Channen, Shli”ta and Yeshivah Keter HaTorah, He was raised and yeshivah educated in Miami, Florida. In addition to his yeshivah training, he holds a B.A. with High Honors in Jewish Studies from the University of Florida and a Doctorate in Jurisprudence. He is the proud father of 4 children.

Chaburas

Baltimore, Maryland, USA – Issur VeHeter Chabura

Ephraim has been living in Baltimore since 1987. After many years studying Gemorah he was looking for a structured program in Halacha. In 2010 He joined Rabbi Refael Waldman’s Issur V’Heter chabbura under the guidance of Rav Channen and received smicha from that program in 2012. He also completed the Kiddushin and Orach Chaim Programs.

He inherited Rabbi Waldman’s chabbura in 2012 and has been running it ever since. The chabbura meets at Congregation Darchei Tzedek in Baltimore and is also broadcast over the Internet. As an aide in grasping the complexity of Issur V’Heter, R’ Horowitz has developed a set of diagrams that compliment the course material generated by Rav Channen.

Rabbi Raphael Waldman learned at Yeshivos Aish HaTorah and Ohr Somayach, in Yerushalayim, then at Yeshivas Ner Israel, in Baltimore. For the past twenty years, he has taught both adults and children at Yeshivos Chofetz Chaim, Kochav Yitzchok, and Yesodei HaTorah.

Ten years ago, he began learning halacha under Rav Channen, shlit”a, earning smicha from him in Issur v’Heter. He also was given smicha in Shabbos, Pesachim, and Mikvaos.

Rabbi Waldman founded the Baltimore Issur v”Heter Chabura and taught it for two cycles, until he gave it over to Rabbi Eric Horowitz, who still teaches it for Yeshivas Keter HaTorah.

Rabbi Waldman now leads Keter HaTorah’s Baltimore Hilchos Shabbos Chabura. He is also learning other areas of Shulchan Aruch: Orach Chaim with HaRav Mordechai Frankel, shlit”a; Yoreh Deah with HaRav Yosef Berger, shlit”a;, and Choshen Mishpat with HaRav Peretz Moncharsh, shlit”a.

Rabbi Sholom Skolnik was born and raised in Brooklyn, N.Y. After completing High School and post High School Beis Medrash at Yeshivah Torah Temima Rabi Skolnik spent three years learning in Yeshivas Kodshim (Rabbi Tzvi Kaplan). In August 2014 the Skolniks moved to Phoenix AZ to join the Phoenix Community Kollel to further Rabbi Skolnik’s dream of teaching and inspiring communities with Torah. In conjunction with several of the baalei batim there Rabbi Skolnik launched the newest chaburah to join Keter Hatorah. Comprising over ten highly motivated baalei batim from a wide range of backgrounds, the chaburah is an innovation and inspiration. Rabbi Skolnik has brought his love of Torah and teaching, coupled with a knack for simplifying complex topics to infuse the chaburah with energy and excitement.

Rabbi Gideon Schulman

Rabbi Gideon Schulman was born in Gateshead and grew up in Leeds before settling in London. After completing a BSc in IT & Finance and an MA Human Resources Management, he went on to build a successful career in HR. Having spent time learning at Shapell’s / Darché Noam he continued his learning with Rav Chaim Kanterovitz Shlita receiving semicha from Rav Channen Shlita, Rav Erez Elcharar Shlita and a Michtav Bracha from Rav Aharon Schenkolewski Shlita. Rabbi Schulman is now overseeing what he believes will be a successful Chaburah for Keter HaTorah in the UK and hopes with the Help of HaShem to enhance Torah learning for all.

Rabbi Ely Braun

“We wanted to make Aliyah while we could still contribute to Israel” so said Rabbi Ely (Eliahu) Braun as he and his wife, Sheli, arrived in Israel on a Nefesh B’Nefesh Flight in August of 2015. Rabbi Ely M. Braun’s was born as a “Displaced Person” in Post War Germany, lived in Israel for eight years, was educated in Brooklyn, NY. where he earned his BA from Brooklyn College, completed his Rabbinical Studies at Yeshivat Eretz Israel with Rabbi Yehuda Gershuni zt”l, earned his Masters of Science at the Johns Hopkins University and completed additional graduate work at assorted institutions. Over the decades in North America, he served as a Chaplain, congregational rabbi, sessional professor, Jewish educator, psychotherapist, and mediator in New York, Maryland, Minnesota, Manitoba, Colorado and Ontario. He has the Canadian designation of a Charted Mediator (C.Med) and is a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario, currently working on line.

Rabbi Yisroel Meir Raff was raised in Jerusalem, where he studied at Yeshivas Ateres Yisroel under Rav Boruch Mordechai Ezrachi. He received semicha from Rav Ezrachi and Rav Zalman Nechemya Goldberg. Rabbi Raff is currently living in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he runs the Keter HaTorah program in the Yeshiva Maharsha Kollel.
